To advance the education of the public in matters relating to asian culture, music and dance, in particular but not exclusively by the provision of instructional workshops and classes, and by the presentation of public performances
An equal music
Chhandam quietly came into existence in 1990s with the start of weekly Indian classical music, dance (Kathak) and tabla classes based at James Hornsby school, Laindon,Essex. Its renowned teachers included Pandit Harkirat Singh Rayatt, Dalia Dasgupta and Hanna Manila. Its performers and students include Gurdain Sing Rayatt and Shruti Dasgupta who have performed at many distinguished concerts in the United Kingdom.From its very inception Chhandam has pioneered shows on original themes primary to raise funds for charitable organisations.
